Andy-are you still happy with the Danuser 18 Chipper-I may want to purchase one but am looking for some current owner in put.

Ref the Brute Chipper-unknown what caused the problem but it began by slipping the belt off the small top pulley and ended by braking the belt and jamming the pulley which caused? , the pto shaft to twist and bend. It is probably just a freak thing and the folks at Mackissic are really interested in correcting/identifying the problem-the people there are especially helpful and sincere in providing a good product so I suspect they will find the prob. In the meantime I still haven't purchased or decided on a make or model but it looks like one of the Danuser's in the 3000. range would fill the bill.

Yup-I had so many probs with a 99 4300-all corrected by the dealer, that I traded for a 2002 JD 990-Really like the 990 and have nothing but good to say about how the dealer worked with me-no question, the 990 is more tractor and less lawnmower on steroids.

Has anyone used or owned the Mighty Mac Brute chipper,Model TPH183-made by MacKissic inc of Parker Ford , Pa.
Do they work well for a homeowner? I plan on using one on my JD 990 for occasional clean up projects.

Does anyone know how to increase the lifting capacity on a new 990 with a 430 loader-it just doesn't have nearly the power of the 99 JD 4300 that I had that also had a 430 loader-other than that I like the tractor much better than the 4300!!

Thanks for the comments and info-really pleased with this tractor-just seems more tractor like and capable-I use it a lot with a york rake and scraper blade-seems just the ticket!!

I want to thank you all for the info concerning cracking plastic on my JD 4300-After confering with my dealer, the feeling is that the plastic shouldn't have cracked and the dealer-Greenway Equipment in Bangor Maine is doing it's best to obtain complete replacement of the damaged parts.

I was so impressed with the attention, concern and prompt action that I traded with them, at a very fair price, for a new JD 990 with a 430 heavy duty loader and R4 tires- after that ya gotta stay with the Green and I must admit that Greenway Equipment is a great dealership! Thanks again!
